Eat Like a Local: A Day of Le Mars Favorites

If you really want to experience Le Mars, you do it through the places that locals return to over and over. This two-day itinerary highlights locally owned favorites and well-loved staples, giving you a true taste of the town!

Morning: Coffee & Comfort

Start your day at Habitue Coffeehouse & Bakery, a downtown favorite where mornings move at an easy pace. Grab a coffee, order a classic breakfast item, and settle in while locals stop by to start their day.

Midday: Sweet Traditions

After breakfast, take a stroll through downtown and stop into Lally’s Eastside where you can grab one of Vander Meer’s Bakeries pastry or donut. This longtime bakery is a staple in the community and the perfect place to grab something small before your next stop.

Afternoon: Lunch & Local Flavor

For lunch, drive over to Bob’s Drive-In, a classic local favorite known for comfort food and unique atmosphere. Give a Bob’s Dog a try, it’s one of our favorites!

Late Afternoon: Ice Cream Essentials

No Le Mars itinerary is complete without ice cream. Head to the Wells Visitors Center & Ice Cream Parlor and enjoy a scoop, or two, and learn how Le Mars became the Ice Cream Capital of the World. Take a few minutes to learn the story, snap a photo, and enjoy a tradition locals never skip.

Evening: Dinner & Drinks

Wrap up your day with dinner at 4 Brothers Grill & Bar, a go-to spot for a relaxed dinner and friendly atmosphere. Afterward, grab a nightcap or take a stroll downtown as the sun sets.
