Jekyll & Hyde is a gothic musical with music by Frank Wildhorn, a book by Leslie Bricusse, and lyrics by Wildhorn, Bricusse, and Steve Cuden, based on Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It tells the story of a doctor who splits his good and evil sides, creating the murderous Mr. Hyde, and features a pop-rock score with hits such as "This Is the Moment" and "A New Life". The show premiered in Houston in 1990, toured the U.S., and opened on Broadway in 1997, becoming a long-running hit despite mixed reviews.
